Tuesday Tip: Canva

Do you consider yourself a creative but don’t have the time to learn all the intricacies of Adobe products? Canva, a collaborative graphic design platform, may be just the creative marketing tool you and your team needs.

Canva, which can be accessed online on their website here or by way of the Canva mobile app, has the potential to make your creative life across several different mediums a whole lot easier. Everything from designing an Instagram post, producing a monthly newsletter, creating a new business card, preparing a presentation, re-designing a logo, or even putting together a new Zoom background for yourself can be done on the Canva platform, plus so much more.

The best part too? Canva gives you loads of templates to choose from for whatever you are setting out to create. Once you select a template for your project, you’ll have the freedom to manipulate and add to the template however you please. Fortunately, Canva gives you plenty of customization options and tools without overwhelming you. Inserting texts, uploading graphics, and making fundamental changes such as re-sizing and re-positioning items in your document can all be executed quickly and seamlessly.

Once you are finished with your project and you are ready to download to share digitally or by print, Canva will suggest a file type depending on what kind of project you are working on, which I find very helpful.

There are a couple more features of Canva that are really nice and important to note. One, Canva makes collaborating with your team on a project very easy. All it takes is for you to invite your teammates via an email address, and they’ll be able to pick up and start working on the project from wherever you left off. Another useful feature Canva offers is Brand Kit. Brand Kit allows you to organize your company colors and logos all into one place, making these easy to access and implement at any time.

This is just the beginning of what there is to discover in Canva. Whether for personal or business use, Canva is truly a fun and intuitive platform to unleash your creativity.

As of August 2020, Canva Pro (which I recommend) will put you out $9.95 per month.
