Tuesday Tip: What to Expect with Windows 11

Windows 11 is here! Windows 10 will be supported until 10/2025, so there isn’t a rush to change from Windows 10, but here is a preview of what it looks like and some of its new features.

  • Updated User Interface: You can orient the taskbar to left, center and right.

  • New Start Menu: You can still view all your apps here, but it now has a simplified and cleaner look.

  • Multiple Desktops: You create different workspaces and customize your layout/backgrounds.

  • File Explorer Update: The biggest changes are a simplified ribbon and easy right click options. Also, when right clicking, you see popular cut, paste and delete commands. You can also customize the view to include extra space between the folders or choose the compact view (standard windows 10 view).

  • Android Apps: The Amazon App Store is not bridged to the Microsoft Store, which allows you to install apps from both places more easily from the Microsoft Store. Expect some changes to this functionality in the future to expand access to apps that are not found on the Amazon App Store too.
