Tuesday Tip: Save Money on Apps

Save Money button keySome of us like to use all kinds of apps and don’t mind paying for them, however, the monthly costs for these apps can add up. If you are an iOS user, you are in luck if you want to start saving on some of these subscriptions. Apple has a small oddity that you can take advantage of to save some of your hard-earned money.

Every listing on the App Store must show all of its in-app purchases. Sometimes when prices change, developers don’t go in and update the existing price tiers – they will just add new ones instead. What does this mean for you? Take a couple extra minutes to see if there is a lower subscription tier than the one you are currently paying. This may not always be the case, but it can’t hurt to look.

To see if there is a cheaper alternative, go to one of the apps you already subscribe to (this won’t work for new ones) in the App Store, select Information, and then go to In-App Purchases to see other price options.

If you do see cheaper choices, follow the steps below:

  • Head to Settings
  • Select your name
  • Hit subscriptions
  • Search for the app to see available payment options
  • Select your choice and confirm the change

Don’t spend all that extra money in one place!
