I might be behind here, but I just found out how fabulous Credit Karma is. A bit of background: I get a regular credit score update through my credit card company and was concerned that it was changing slightly. I called Trans Union, the one reporting the data, and they told me that I had an open credit card since 2014. I was confused since I knew I had not opened that account. When I called my credit card company directly, the customer service representative could not provide me a lot of information, but suggested I start using Credit Karma to monitor my credit daily. It has been a game changer!
The number of free resources at my fingertips are amazing. I get access to my credit scores and reports from TransUnion and Equifax weekly. They also analyze my credit profile and make money-saving product recommendations. If I get a product through one of the recommendations, the bank or lender pay Credit Karma.
Members benefit from other features too, including free credit monitoring and credit alerts, which can help you identity theft. This also helps prevent time-consuming calls to the credit reporting agencies and helped me remove the open credit card account that I never applied for. I simply clicked on a tab to dispute it and within 48 hours, it was removed. They also have financial tools and educational articles to help you understand what credit is all about, as well as thousands of member reviews on credit cards, loans and more so you can make informed decisions. The resources are endless!
