Tuesday Tip: Get Paid For Opinions Instantly (and Easily) Via 1Q App

By Kate O’Neal

Don’t you ever wish it was easy to make a few extra dollars here and there? There are a lot of events that might deplete your extra saving account, like holiday gifts, birthdays, vacations, etc. Well, here is a really easy way to slowly start replenishing that account!

1Q app logo | Network 1 ConsultingLast year, our bookkeeper, Andrea, let us know about an app in which you’re paid to share your opinion. It’s an app called 1Q and it’s available for free at both the App Store and Google Play. Simply enough, you answer some demographic questions and when a question is available that fits your demographics, you’ll be notified via a popup on your phone. After answering the question, you’re instantly paid through your PayPal account.

1Q app screen | Network 1 ConsultingWhen you initially sign up for your account, you can choose to receive $.25 or $.50 per answered question. When you choose $.25, 1Q lets you know those members will receive more questions than those that choose $.50. Typically questions come in one at a time, and based on your answers, you may receive follow-up questions. For example, I once received a question asking if I had flown anywhere in the previous 6 months. I answered “yes,” and there were five follow-up questions related to my opinions of the airline industry. This yielded me a whopping $1.50 for all six questions; not bad for 30 seconds of mindless work! Keep in mind, each question comes with a maximum number of responses. Once the number of response is reached, the question is no longer valid. Be sure to always answer questions as soon as you get them!  I have found the window is typically pretty short to answer them so this app wouldn’t be good for someone who isn’t near their phone often.

If you want to make some additional money, you can get $.25 per friend you refer to 1Q. You can also choose to send your payments to an approved non-profit if you so choose, to do good in the world.

On the flipside of 1Q is the business side. I haven’t dabbled in this side of the app, but it seems like it would be a valuable tool to get opinions from your targeted demographics. The math is simple: companies pay 1Q $1 per response. If you have two questions and need 125 responses, you’re looking at $250.

Voila! You’re not looking at a huge money maker, but it will put a few extra dollars in your pocket to go buy yourself that extra cup of coffee in the morning!
