NFMGMA July 2014 Educational Session – What Exceptional Leaders Know

Tracy Spears – Regional VP of Transworld Systems

by Richard Stokes

John Quincy Adams once said; “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”  I’m not much of a history buff, but it’s not difficult to see that history is filled with great leaders that have changed the world and inspired those around them to do great things.

LeadershipAt July’s North Fulton MGMA meeting we’re going to be hearing from Tracy Spears, Regional Vice President of Transworld Systems and she’s going to be talking to us about; “What Exceptional Leaders Know.”  So, whether you hold a leadership role in your practice or not, you’ll want to attend this event because as Tracy says – great leadership never goes out of style.  In addition, with all the uncertainty in the medical field today, knowing how to be a good leader is that much more important and can make a big difference in your practice.

I remember when Tracy spoke to our group 2 years ago and she gave us a lot of good information back then.  We’re going to get the same again – some of the things you can expect to hear from her this time are:

  • A much better understanding of the needs of the team you work with.
  • Strategies on how you can improve your own personal leadership style.
  • How to better identify the four personality temperaments.
  • How people of different temperaments operate and how to understand them more effectively.

The big goal of her presentation would be for you to form your own personal Board of Directors, take a different view of the existing team you work with and start managing their energy differently.

I think we can all agree that today’s healthcare organizations are not at all like the ones from yesterday.  So much has changed and is continuing to change and as members of this dynamic field we have to constantly look for ways to improve, evolve and keep up.   Tracy is going to share some ideas and strategies that will help us to manage that change better by becoming better leaders and being able to better manage the people we work with.

Don’t be shy to ask questions at the meeting but if you are looking for more information here are some additional resources you can look in to:

Everyone gets motivated by a great leader, so invite your colleagues, co-workers, friends and peers to this month’s meeting.  Maybe you’ll learn something new about yourself that will inspire those around you.  If you haven’t already registered for this month’s event – here’s the link: North Fulton MGMA
