What attracted you to the technology industry & what made you decide to start this business?
This is a good mix of working with the latest technology and helping people. There is a lot of pressure to keep everything running smoothly. When things break, we are there to fix them and there is genuine appreciation from our clients when we get things going again.
What was the number one lesson you took away from the earlier years of operations?
Just because we can do most of our work remotely, away from our clients, doesn’t mean that is always the best way to do it. People want to know the IT folks who are in control of their data, and onsite visits need to remain a key part of our professional DNA.
What has been the biggest milestone achievement for you/the company thus far?
Stability and continued growth in the face of major economic setbacks: the dot com implosion, 9/11, and The Great Recession.
What makes you “better than the rest”?
IT is a huge field and there are a lot of specialties. At Network 1, we focus on what we’re good at– managing IT networks and fixing computer problems – and partner with other local, top quality firms for everything else! We attract and keep the highest quality senior engineers so our clients get consistently high levels of service. Also, proactive planning and strategy is baked-in to all of our IT support plans – our clients say this is a tremendous benefit for them and a big differentiator for us.
What does the next 10 years look like?
Exciting. Continued steady growth in our client base and our staff. Remaining true to our company values and preserving what has made us successful so far.
