Tuesday Tip: Mac Out – Windows In

Although Macs and Windows PCs use different file systems, most file types can be moved between the operating systems. It’s really a matter of moving the data from your Mac to your new PC. There are a couple ways to do it.

  1. Use an external storage device, like a USB or external hard drive to copy data from your MAC and Windows PC. For the most efficient compatibility, format the drive with an exFAT file system.
  2. Transfer files using a cloud service. If you don’t have many large files, like videos, this is the best option for you. All you need is an internet connection and a file service such as OneDrive or Dropbox.

Now you can easily switch from your Mac to a Windows PC.
