Tuesday Tip: How to Quickly Find Special Characters on Your Keyboard

Depending on the line of work you are in, you may need to occasionally insert special keyboard characters into a Word document, email, or some other application like ✔ Á ä ã ⅛ ₤ ©.

For me, the biggest waste of time was simply remembering how to get access to them in the first place. If that’s you, then this week’s tip is for you.

The Windows Key + Period Key will pop up a window with all the special characters you are probably looking for (including emoji’s). It may take you a minute to find the one you actually want.

Once you have located it and inserted into your document – you can easily find it again by clicking the ‘most recently used’ symbol at the bottom of the pop-up window.
