If you use an iPhone and love Harry Potter, you can bring a little magic into your day with a few hidden Siri spells. Apple includes playful voice commands that mimic famous wizarding incantations, turning simple phone tasks into a charming tribute to Hogwarts.
To start casting Siri spells, set up your iPhone’s voice assistant so it is ready to respond.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Siri & Search (or Apple Intelligence & Siri on newer models).
- Turn on Listen for “Hey Siri” (and/or Press Side Button for Siri).
- If you have never set up Siri, follow the prompts so it can recognize your voice.
Once your voice assistant is ready, try a few fun spells. Say, “Hey Siri, Lumos” to turn on your iPhone’s flashlight, just like casting the wand-lighting charm, and say “Nox” to turn it off. Say, “Hey Siri, Accio [app name]” to open an app hands-free—for example, “Accio Messages” launches your messaging app.
These commands work like normal Siri requests but add a whimsical touch to everyday iPhone use, so the next time you need your flashlight or want to launch an app, skip the buttons and let your inner wizard take over.
