Check out iNaturalist to connect with nature and learn more about the world around you. This app uses advanced technology to “look” at images and get information from them, helping to identify the flora and fauna around us.

If you find a cool insect in your backyard, snap a picture and upload it to this app. Not only will it help identify the bug, but you can also read about its behavior. Plus, other app users will often chime in to confirm the identification to make sure it is accurate.

With millions of observations made and nearly 350k species identified, you can view and learn about what others have shared from all over the world. You can even search by location and species, as well as by the person who has posted or identified what others have added. It is a fun way to learn and teach your kids about the fascinating world around us.
