Ever scroll through your texts looking for a conversation, only to realize it’s gone? You might need that text for all kinds of reasons: a client’s instructions, a family member’s address, or a friend’s confirmation you now have to double‑check. Those “I’ll remember this later” messages love to disappear right when you finally need them.
Often, the messages aren’t truly gone, they’re just harder to reach. They may look missing because you deleted a thread while cleaning up, your phone auto‑removed older texts to free storage, or newer chats pushed everything else so far down you stopped scrolling.
To see your top conversations through iCloud settings:
-
Open Settings
-
Tap your name at the top (Apple ID / iCloud)
-
Tap iCloud
-
Scroll down and tap Show All
-
Tap Messages
-
Tap Manage Storage
-
Tap Top Conversations
You can open these conversations even if they no longer appear in your main Messages list.
If you don’t see what you need in Top Conversations, try a few other routes. Use the search bar in Messages to look by name, number, keyword, or a phrase you remember. Check other places where the same info might live, like email, Notes, or another messaging app. Good luck!
