Creating a More Secure System

SITUATION

A construction client that focuses on drywall installation is based in Cumming but does most of their work in the Florida panhandle. When another company that they owned at the time got hacked, and their IT guy couldn’t solve the issue, they realized they needed to bring in more expertise. They called Network 1, which immediately came in to look at the ransomware on their sister company’s system as well as set up more advanced security for their businesses.

SOLUTION

“We initially met with three people from Network 1, one of which was very familiar with the construction industry and our unique technology needs,” said the company’s owner. “They looked at our set-up that day and explained what we needed to do to protect our information.” The business needed more than new security protocols, but also a different internet provider, better access points and new equipment. “I appreciated that they explained everything clearly and told us what to expect during this transition,” the owner shared. “Now, our computers run so much faster, and we feel good about the security we have in place too.”

This construction client has also been impressed with the level of responsiveness they now receive. “If we arrive in the morning and discover an issue, we can simply put in a ticket, and they will dial in and fix the problem quickly. And if they can’t make the repair remotely, they will send someone to our office,” the owner said. Network 1 does a weekly check of each computer to ensure that all updates are made. Additionally, they keep abreast of new developments and protocols that they then share with clients to further improve their systems and security.

RESULTS

With all the updates they made originally, the company is happy to now be in maintenance mode when it comes to their technology. “I was skeptical at first to give an IT company control over our systems. But now I can lay down at night and feel confident that we are protected, and everything will be as I left it the day before too,” the owner said. “I would absolutely recommend them to other businesses, and frequently do.”
