Tuesday Tip: iOS 14 Beta 7

By Kevin Jackman

On Friday September 4, 2020, Apple release the iOS 14 beta 7. Here are some new features and fixes:

I’ve personally had the iOS beta for about a week now and I’ve noticed some pretty cool changes that Apple has done with this update. The first thing I noticed with this update is that it runs smoothly. Apple made some changes to apps and menus and they all open like a true finished software. In fact, iOS 14 beta 7 addresses known bugs present in past updates. For instance, the Air pod error message some people were getting when they connected their headphones has been addressed. Also, when adding the weather app as a widget, the device does not spam you for your current location.

New Features

Apple has added new wallpapers with this beta. Each new wallpaper now has a ‘light’ and ‘dark’ mode setting They’ve also included new ‘live’ wallpaper options. Apple has also addressed the “pause” associated with FaceTime. In the past, when using FaceTime, if the other caller would retreat to the home screen or use another app, you would receive a “pause” screen. With the iOS 14 Beta 7, callers can utilize other apps without their caller feeling neglected, as the call is no longer interrupted.
