Exciting news for Atlanta residents and businesses – Google Fiber has arrived! They have begun sign-ups and installations in Piedmont Heights and Midtown East. For those of you who live in Old Fourth Ward, construction is under way and Google fiber has suggested that you reach out to them now because they might be able to bring the fiber directly to your house during the construction phase.
Fiber will provide you with superfast internet. As they state on their website, this means less time buffering and more video chatting, uploading family videos and playing your favorite video games online. Of course, another major benefit is that it will cause the competition to provide better service.
There are three ways you can reach Google fiber: Meet in person at Fiber Place, which is located at Ponce City Market, click on their link, email or chat online, or call them at 866-777-7550.
Robert Cheek, a Field Director at Network 1, has researched pricing information for a client. Just to give you an idea of cost for a business, 1GB service with 13 public IPs is $290/month. For residential it is $70 for 1gigabit of speed up and down.
