Recently, a client, Robin Hensley, owner of Raising the Bar, told me how much she was enjoying using Dragon Dictation on her iPhone. Seeing she is an on-the-go executive, she likes having the ability to record her thoughts during her busy day. I thought I would share more information with you about Dragon Dictation so that you could incorporate it into your day as well to save time.

Dragon Dictation can be downloaded for free from the App Store. Once you download it, it  is fairly simple to use. Upon initial set up you have the option to allow Dragon Dictation to access your Contacts and add them to the vocabulary list. I personally did this so that when I referred to someone in my recording it would recognize the name and spell it correctly.

Once setup is complete, you will see the screen below.

You simply press the red button and begin speaking. The application recognizes when you say things like period or paragraph. When you have finished dictating, click Done. At the bottom of the screen you can  click on the highlighted button below to decide where you would like to send the transcription – text, email, copy, Facebook, and Twitter are your options.

One of my law firm clients has purchased a version of Dragon that can be used on her computer. It has been an invaluable time saving option for her as well. The costs vary depending upon which software package you choose.. If you are interested in this, please send me an email and I can put in you contact with a vendor with whom we work closely.
