Get 10 people in a room and you’ll get 10 different descriptions of what “cloud computing” means. In many ways, the Cloud is still the “wild west” of the IT world. There are numerous vendors providing Cloud services, some of these companies are legitimate and deliver quality services while others are fly-by-night companies looking to make a quick buck. If a business is going to trust a 3rd party with its most valuable asset, the company data, then a very thorough understanding of the health of the cloud provider and the services to be delivered needs to be clear. At Network 1, we believe our job is to provide options, including cloud, to our clients and help evaluate those options so the right solution is delivered.
Most of our clients fall into one of three camps:
- Cloudless: Some clients are either not ready to make the leap or have applications that are not Cloud-ready but are critical to their business. We help these clients with technology refreshes and budgeting to ensure their IT infrastructure is safe and reliable. We have also laid the groundwork for future Cloud projects to ensure our clients’ IT investments are protected.
- Hybrid Cloud: there is some low-hanging fruit in Cloud services, such as email. Getting a robust, business-class email solution that is hosted by the email experts is a great way to dip your toe into the Cloud waters. This is easily done while the on-premise infrastructure remains in place. Hosted email is a mature solution and low risk if the right provider is selected.
- Private Cloud: This solution is a rapidly growing solution in today’s Cloud market. It takes all the benefits of Cloud computing (off-premise equipment, fixed fee pricing, reliable infrastructure) and combines them with the low risk of retaining control of your data.
1-Cloud Hosted Services: We have helped an increasing number of companies “get out of the hardware business” and still retain full control of their solution with the benefits of a Private Cloud environment via our 1-Cloud Hosted Services.
