Still in Beta… and Already 20+ Million Users

“Google+ changes things by expanding things. This isn’t just another platform, it’s Google’s platform, which brings up a lot of issues surrounding privacy like what information Google collects and how they use that information.” Words of wisdom from Joshua Kubicki, senior director of legal and corporate practices at LexisNexis Applied Discovery (emphasis added by me).
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, although David Gracey said something similar in his blog post entitled, “Google GMail: Great for Home Use, Bad for Business”.
Read more from Kubicki in his article recently published in CIO magazine entitled, “Google+: 5 Legal Issues for Businesess”.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of social media – especially LinkedIn – but I’m leery of Google+: because it’s Google and because of their history of not protecting people’s privacy.
This is the 16th of 23 blogs I’m writing to celebrate the Atlanta Association of Legal Administrators’ 23rd annual Business Partner Expo. This year the Business Partner Expo will be held from 3:00 – 6:30 pm on August 17th at the Cobb Galleria. Over 150 legal administrators and their guests are expected to be on hand learning about the latest technologies, finding solutions to business issues, uncovering emerging trends and developing valuable partnerships to help their law firms. Already an AALA member? I’ll see you there! Not an AALA member? Give me a call at 404.943.0800 x133 to discuss how you might be able to attend as a guest!
