Sometimes when my computer is acting sluggish, I check my “up-time” to see when I last rebooted my machine. I often have many documents open at once, and I can go days without rebooting my machine. Just like humans, if computers are left on for long enough they begin to act funny. You can see all types of metrics about your computer with just a few simple steps.

1. Right-click on your task bar and select
“Task Manager”.

2. Choose the “Performance” tab.

“Up-time” will be located at the very bottom.
If it reads more than 7 days, you may want to
reboot.
